    Emergency

Whether it’s a serious injury or unexpected illness, Artesia General Hospital’s emergency team brings experience and speed to every situation. Our highly-trained staff of emergency professionals offers life-saving care—quickly, efficiently and expertly.

Emergency Department Director, Marshall G. Baca Jr, DO, FACEP, FAAEM and ER Director, Allison Graham, RN, are assisted by a team that includes surgeons, nurses and other specialists. We strive to have our staff certified in advanced adult and pediatric life support, and hold specialty certifications in trauma care. Each team member is focused on providing the best in emergency care to our patients every day. Artesia General Hospital is prepared for most emergency situations. If advance care is needed, the hospital has agreements with flight and ground services to transport patients to regional tertiary centers.

Each year, over 10,000 patients are treated in our Emergency Department.  Upon arrival, Emergency Room patients are screened through a triage process to determine priorities in their care. Our department offers two screening rooms, five private exam rooms and two critical care rooms equipped for advanced life support and trauma care. A physician is on duty in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day.
