Ambulatory Care Unit

The Ambulatory Care Unit of Artesia General Hospital will be located within the Department of Surgery. The Ambulatory Care Unit encompasses many other outpatient procedures as well as continuing to provide services for our surgical and endoscopy outpatients.

ACU Procedures can be scheduled from 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. ACU services are more consistently available after noon to accommodate the existing surgical schedules. Off-hours services, if necessary, are available either through the Emergency Department or the Medical-Surgical Unit.

Services to be provided in ACU will include:

Therapeutic Injections-SQ or IM
Therapeutic Injections-IV
Infusion Therapy
Transfusion Blood and/or Blood Products
Paracentesis/Thoracentesis
Treatment Room—available for minor surgical procedures requiring no provision of CRNA services
